About 8bitmatt
8bitmatt is the video game crazed part of Matt Grimm's brain. He enjoys all video games but especially likes classics from the 8bit to 128bit era. His all-time favorite home console is the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). His favorite NES game is anyone's guess, they're all too good.. but here are a few: Balloon Fight, Battletoads, BurgerTime, Captain Skyhawk, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and of course Super Mario Bros. 1,2,3. Some of his other favorite home console's are: SNES, Virtual Boy, ColecoVision, Sega Genesis and the original GameBoy. His favorite arcade machine is Robotron 2084 with Donkey Kong in a very close second.
8bitmatt's hobbies include: collecting anything and everything that has to do with classic gaming, restoring arcade and pinball machines, studying game design, developing homebrew games, composing chiptunes, and when he gets time actually playing video games. His collecting is mostly focused on Nintendo during the NES and SNES era.
About this website
This site is a place for 8bitmatt to share his love of video games with the world. The blog is the heart of this site and will contain topics ranging from game reviews and general thoughts on video games to really nerdy, in-depth game development (including code). So really whatever 8bitmatt feels like writing about at the time. In other parts of the site, there will be a dedicated section to his personal collection, giving as much detail and insight as possible into that fascinating hobby. Ultimately there may also be a store to sell some original merch including shirts, homebrew games, chiptunes, etc.
This is hopefully the only page on the site 8bitmatt talks about himself in the third person.
